Paper Airplanes and Cake

Here’s a peek at Finn’s first birthday party. Paper airplane theme and a few family and friends in our cozy little home on Saturday–four days before his actual birthday. I figure pictures describe a party best. Thanks for capturing some great ones, Laura!

The prep is one of my favorite parts.

Can’t have a breakfast party without the ‘Bucks. IMG_5922 IMG_5923 IMG_5924 IMG_5906

Joey was the master airplane maker.

Cake time! Cassie helped me bake the cake (okay, she baked it in my kitchen), but I frosted and decorated it with homemade frosting. Finn was not the biggest fan of the sugary icing or the clapping and cheering. Sweet guy. DSC_0174 DSC_0181 DSC_0186 DSC_0187 DSC_0194 DSC_0189

What a fun day! Special thanks to Joey’s parents for helping us prepare. Couldn’t have pulled it off without Nana Becky and her famous breakfast casserole. I’m excited to quietly celebrate Finn’s first year of life with our little bitty family on Wednesday.

  1. Finn’s parents sure know how to celebrate life. We wish you a special day on Wednesday as you look back on the miracles played out in 2012.

  2. Incredibly done, friend. Darling theme! Your friend’s pics beautifully captured the hearts of beautiful people. Happy #1, Mighty Finn!! Love you guys!
